Surface Pattern Design
my process
I usually start a collection with a mood board for the particular theme. I first think about which feelings, which mood I want to create. I jot down initial thoughts on certain motifs, colors or even initial pattern ideas. Then I start with my sketches either analog on paper or digitally on the iPad. For the final artwork I use a mixture of Procreate, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. But I also like to experiment with analog media like watercolors and gouache or discover motifs and textures while walking through my neighborhood.
